Atelier Iris 3: Grand Phantasm (PS2)

Atelier series have been one of my favourite RPG series that I had liked, its gameplay, music and character artwork has always keep me interested in the game. Now, NIS America is going to port this game to the US platform. and it is scheduled for a release on 8th May 2007 (exact date is taken from IGN) The official website was launched 2 days ago and pre-order is now available. I believe those who played the japanese version will know that AI3 (known as just AI:grand fantasm in japan) features some uniques changes from predecessors. No more random encounters, encounters are done by engaging with monsters that exist on the field. New features like the a active card based battle system, guild quests and travelling between multiple worlds are features that make this title shine. If you are someone who likes astounding 3d graphics, you will want to avoid this title as this game is more on the interactive gameplay rather than graphics. This game is definitely in my”must-play” list. ;)

Players take on the role of Edge Vanhite, a member of the group Mystruse whose business is exploring other worlds. Along with your friend Iris Fortner, you’ll attempt to collect a special set of magic books that will provide you with infinite wisdom. Atelier Iris 3 will feature a new Active Card Cost Battle system for turn based fights, a new visual encounter system that does away with random battles, and new guild quests that allow you to take jobs and missions at will. Players will also be able to befriend various Manas across five different worlds, acquiring their weapons and various skills.
